Roberto e Bruna, Parrucchieri (Aprile 20, 2020)

La gentilezza è imbattibile.

Una delle cose che ha attirato la mia attenzione quando sono arrivata in Italia 10 anni fa per la prima volta è stato il numero di parrucchieri che ci sono. Li vedi ovunque, quasi con la stessa frequenza dei bar e dei ristoranti.

La donna che chiamo "mia madre italiana" Maria, mi ha ospitato nel 2011. Mi ha mandato da un piccolo Parrucchieri Roberto e Bruna al numero 24 di Borgo La Croce in un noto quartiere chiamato Sant'Ambrogio. Ora ci vado sempre. Quasi tutti i giorni potresti trovare Roberto e Bruna, che trattano magnificamente le persone e le fanno sentire parte della loro famiglia.

Roberto è molto gentile; ha la capacità di far sentire ogni donna come se fosse la più bella del mondo. Lo sguardo nei suoi occhi è come se avesse 200 anni in termini di esperienza e sembra che è un uomo a cui piace semplicemente la vita così com'è. La particolarità di lui è che ha svolto questo lavoro negli ultimi 60 anni. E la sua attività è stata tramandata da quattro generazioni, quindi ha più di 100 anni. Lo trovo semplicemente fantastico.

Si è ritirato l'anno scorso, un giorno prima del blocco pandemico (immaginatelo). Ho avuto la fortuna di essere invitata alla festa del suo pensionamento e lo abbiamo salutato con un caloroso applauso da parte di tutti i suoi clienti di una vita.

Bruna è come un tocco di sole. Ha il sorriso più dolce. È sempre di buon umore quando lavora e sa perfettamente cosa sta facendo. È piena di fiducia e sa come far sentire sicuri anche i suoi clienti. Con lei ora lavora il suo figlio Michelangelo, anche lui molto gentile e mostra già molto talento. Stanno portando avanti l'attività insieme, non posso augurargli di meno di tutto il possibile successo per gli anni a venire.

È uno dei pochi saloni a Firenze in cui la maggior parte dei loro prodotti ha un'origine naturale che li rende più delicati sui capelli e ogni persona (uomo o donna) se ne va sempre con un sorriso radioso. In effetti, la maggior parte dei loro clienti ci va da quando possono ricordare. “Veniamo qui da quando eravamo al liceo!” hanno detto un paio di donne sopra i 75 anni.

Quindi, se sei mai a Firenze e hai bisogno di un taglio di capelli, un trattamento per i capelli o uno styling, questo è un posto meraviglioso dove andare.

Kindness is unbeatable.

One of the things that caught my attention when I first arrived in Italy was the number of hair dressing salons there are. You see them everywhere, almost as often as “bars” (coffee shops) and restaurants.

The woman I call "my Italian mother" Maria, hosted me in 2011. She sent me to a small Parrucchieri Roberto e Bruna in the number 24 of Borgo La Croce in a well-known neighborhood called Sant’Ambrogio. Now I always go there. You could find Roberto and Bruna almost everyday, who treat people splendidly and make them feel part of their family.

Roberto is very kind; he has the ability of making every woman feel like she’s the prettiest on Earth. The look in his eyes is as if he was 200 years old in terms of experience and you know that he is a man that simply enjoys life as it is. What’s very particular about him is that he performed this job for the last 60 years. And his business has been passed along for four generations, so it has more than 100 years. I find that simply amazing.

He retired last year, one day before pandemic lockdown (imagine that). I was lucky enough to be invited to his retirement celebration, and we said goodbye to him with a warm round of applause from all his lifetime customers.

Bruna is like a touch of sunshine. She has the most candid smile. She’s always in a good mood when she’s working, and she totally knows what’s she is doing. She is full of confidence and she knows how to make her customers feel confident too. Her son Michelangelo works with her now, also very kind and talented. They are carrying on with the business together, I can't wish them less than all the possible success for the years to come.

It’s one of the few salons in Florence where most of their products have a natural origin which makes them kinder to the hair, and every person (man or woman) always leaves with a smile looking radiant. In fact, most of their customers go there since they can remember. “We come here since we were in high school!” said a couple of ladies over 75.

So if you are ever in Florence and need a haircut, hair treatment or some styling, this is a wonderful place to go.

Stop by and chill out for a while, be ready to be treated as family and come out feeling beautiful and ready to celebrate life!
